Marvel Comics Unveil Hip-Hop Inspired Covers | Music News

Marvel Comics has released a series of variant covers that pay homage to the best of Hip-Hop, new and old. This series will include more than fifty covers, including nods to 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Wu-Tang Clan and the Notorious B.I.G. In a press-release, Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso said, “for years, Marvel Comics and hip-hop culture have been engaged in an ongiong dialogue. Beginning this October, we will shine a spotlight on the seamless relationship between those two unique forces”. You can catch some of the examples below, and expect to get your hands on some of the covers in October.

I am a recent Ancient History graduate and am now slowly making my way into the music industry. Right now I’m stretching my journalistic muscles and learning my way around the business. Musically speaking I’m all over the place, with a heavy upbringing of dad-rock, branching into heavy metal in my teens and all things electronic in my early twenties. In my free time I love creating and playing music, reading and trying (and failing) to sculpt myself into an Adonis at the gym.
