Matt Bomer To Star In ‘American Horror Story’ Season 5 | TV News
With mega-star Lady Gaga having been confirmed to join the American Horror Story cast for its fifth season, she’ll need a leading man and according to Deadline, Matt Bomer is the man for the job. There are no details yet surrounding the exact nature of Bomer’s character, but it’s safe to say it will be suitably creepy for the subtitled Hotel series.
I can’t say I’m overly familiar with Bomer and his appearances in the likes of White Collar, In Time, Chuck and Traveler but you might just recognize him as Ken from Magic Mike, or you might recognize his abs at least. Either way, I think it will be good for the show to get another leading man stepping into the limelight, I hope they give him a great, meaty character to sink his teeth into!
Although we’ll be getting Gaga and Bomer for the fifth season, we won’t be graced with the glorious presence that is Jessica Lange. Seriously AHS alumni, Lange won’t be returning for her fifth season, saying goodbye to the gruesome horror show after its fourth season; Freak Show. Lange confirmed her departure by saying;“Yes. I’m done”, but continued by gushing over her love of the show; “We’ve had a great run here. I mean, I absolutely love doing these four characters, and in all the madness, I love the writers and Ryan [Murphy] and the insanity of shooting it”.
I’ll be very sad to see Lange go and to be honest, she was a huge reason as to why I tuned into AHS in the first place. I absolutely loved Murder House and Asylum and while I thought Coven was a cool idea, I was massively impressed with its execution. I’m yet to see the show’s fourth season so the jury’s out on that one but I’ll no doubt still be tuning in to see what Gaga and Bomer bring to the table for Hotel! With a UK date still to be confirmed, the fifth season will air in the US from October 2015.
