Matt Corby Set To Return To Glastonbury | Music News
The full line-up for Glastonbury 2016 was released earlier today and it’s good news for Matt Corby fans, as the Australian artist prepares to return to the festival for the first time since 2013. Corby began his career back in 2007, when he rose to national fame after coming runner-up on Australian Idol at the tender age of 16 – a fact the artist has only just managed to escape from.
Ever since severing ties with the TV show, who undoubtedly had the intention of shaping him into the next chart-topping teen, Corby has dedicated himself to crafting a sound which steers away from conventionality in a time where listeners are becoming more and more conscious of the manufactured quality of popular music.
A few years ago, I had the pleasure of watching him perform an intimate gig at the Fleece in Bristol and I thoroughly recommend Glastonbury-goers to do the same on the Sunday, when he graces The John Peel Stage to stir your soul between 1-2pm.
