Matthew McConaughey To Star In ‘Born To Run’ Adaptation | Film News

Interstellar star Matthew McConaughey seems to have bagged another big role in an adaptation of Christopher McDougall‘s 2009 best-selling book Born To Run: A  Hidden Tribe, Super Athletes, and The Greatest Race The World Has Ever Seen. With Matthew Michael Carnahan adapting a script, Born To Run tells McDougall’s journey to find members of the Tarahumara Indian Tribe in Mexican Copper Canyons, where he realizes that hey’re running distances of more that 100 miles without gaining any typical running injuries. Inspiring the barefoot running movement, McDougall recalls a race between America’s greatest runners and members of that tribe.

With roles in Interstellar, Dallas Buyers Club, The Wolf of Wall Street and Mud, it seems as if McConaughey has (thankfully) left his romantic comedy days behind. I’ve got no beef with a cheeky rom-com but if I never see McConaughey in a Failure To Launch type role again, I’ll be happy. Although everybody loved How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, right? Keep an eye out for more Born To Run details!
