Mayim Bialik Admits ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Cast Are ‘Overpaid’ | TV News
It was revealed last year the cast of The Big Bang Theory have topped the list of highest paid television actors; with ringleader Dr. Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) profiting a staggering $29 million and naming him the highest earning TV actor of 2015. However, Sheldon’s sweetheart Amy Farrah fowler (Mayim Bialik) has admitted that the stars are extremely overpaid.
Speaking to New York Daily News, Bialik explained that “I don’t make as much money as people think I do. I don’t think about the money a lot” (even though she has an estimated net worth of $12 million). She continued, confessing: “I am an employed actor and we are all overpaid. I am grateful to be employed. But I still need to think about what is next and I think about it a lot”.
Despite their ridiculous salaries, Bialik was keen to reiterate that their profit has nothing to do with their acting quality and dedication to the show: “I don’t think the pay has anything to do with the quality of the show. We have an extraordinary cast and amazing writing staff, and people all care passionately about putting on a show every week”.
