Meet This Year’s ‘X Factor’ Finalists | TV News

Reggie N Bollie, and Louisa Johnson, were the acts who scored highest in the public vote last week, securing their places in the X Factor live final on December 12. They’ll be joined by Che Chesterman, who went up against Lauren Murray in the Sing Off. Lauren was in tears even before she gave us her rendition of Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song”, whilst Che delivered his version of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Simon and Garfunkel.

Whilst Che’s mentor Nick Grimshaw chose to keep his act, as did Lauren’s mentor Rita Ora, remaining judges Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Simon Cowell were torn between who to send home. Cheryl expressed concerned for Lauren’s emotional reaction to the Sing Off, telling her “it’s only going to get tougher” before saving Che. Simon saved Lauren, meaning that, with 2 votes each, the decision on who to send home had to go to Deadlock. Lauren, the act with the fewest public votes, left the competition.

Each mentor has an act in the final, except Simon, who initially got the hump when he was handed the Over 25s category. The finalists will now board their own Battle Buses, and drive up and down the country to drum up publicity and support. The winner will be hoping to snap up the Christmas No. 1 slot with their cover of Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young”. Louisa is the bookies favourite to win, with odds of 1/6.
