Melissa McCarthy Confirmed To Be In ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival | TV News
The Netflix revival of Gilmore Girls was rather spoilt with the news that Melissa McCarthy was returning.
The wind seems to have changed on that tide, because McCarthy is now confirmed to be cast in the revival alongside Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, David Sutcliffe, Liza Weil, Kelly Bishop, Sean Gunn, Keiko Agena, Yanic Truesdale, Scott Paterson, Sutton Foster, Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia, and Matt Czuchry.
Series creator and Executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino will write and direct the revival series with fellow executive producer Daniel Palladino, confirming in an interview with Ellen McCarthy’s involvement, commenting:
“There has been something that I have been asked about so, so many times and it hasn’t worked out and there is… they’re making four new movies of the ‘Gilmore Girls’ which is a show which was near and dear to my heart for four years and we could not get those schedules to work,” she said.
“And there was a whole thing. And then I was gonna be out of the country and blah, blah, blah. And literally about an hour and half ago we figured out that I’m gonna go back and do it and I am so excited. And they are gonna be amazing.”
