Metronomy – Back Together | New Music
Metronomy have unveiled “Back Together”, the opening track from new album, Summer 08. Metronomy will not be playing any shows around the record, but founder member, Joseph Mount, plays a Summer 08 DJ set at Field Day this weekend (Saturday, June 11, and Sunday, June, 12).
It begins with a cyclical melody, which is then followed by a guitar lead riff. When the bass kicks it, it helps the drums punctuate the rhythm for the, indeed, stomping track. A subtle vocal crescendo builds. The bass breaks out slightly, afterwards, really grooving and not just pounding. It then fades out during these latter moments, the track’s finest hour.
