Michelle Veintimilla Cast As Firefly In ‘Gotham’ Season 2 | TV News

A new villain is coming to the streets of Gotham season 2, and ‘her’ name is Firefly. TV Line recently reported that Michelle Veintimilla (Those Who Kill, Not Cool) has been cast as the famous Batman Rogues Gallery alumni, traditionally portrayed as male in the DC comics and video games.

An official description of the character has been released explaining that “Bridgit Pike is forced into the family business [when] she catches the eye of Selina Kyle, the young Cat Woman and the soon-to-be-Firefly team up to put Bridgit’s fire-starting skills to good use. But after a deadly encounter with the Pike Brothers, the meek Cinderella is transformed into a vengeful supervillain, hell bent on destroying those who have wronged her“.

Firefly will join a growing list of villains that have appeared on the show, yet it seems that Pikes portrayal will be a quick burn, unlike the subtly builds that Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) and Harvey Dent (Nicholas D’Agosto) have enjoyed thus far, which suggest that her appearance in the fifth and sixth episodes may be a case of burn bright and fast. Gotham will return for its second season on September 21.
