Microsoft Dispels Rumours Of ‘Silent Hills’ Revival | Film News

Many of us have been waiting since late 2011 for Silent Hills (the ninth installment in the Silent Hill video game series) to be released, and according to Xbox rep Phil Spencer, we’re going to have to keep waiting with baited breath. With the lethal duo Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro helming the project, survival horror fans at large collectively sighed with frustration as Konami announced in April that the game was set for cancellation.

Recently, another set of rumours suggesting that the project may be successfully rehabilitated by Microsoft as an Xbox One exclusive, were dismissed by Mr. Spencer, much to the dismay of fans of the series. Kojima and his staff left Konami upon completion of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in March of this year, leaving Silent Hills to languish by the wayside. But we haven’t lost hope just yet.
