Mogwai Loses Guitarist John Cummings | Music News
Scottish post-rock band Mogwai have announced that long-time guitarist John Cummings has left the band after 20 years of service. Mogwai released the compilation album Central Belters earlier this year to mark their 20th anniversary and toured with a series of concerts in the UK, peaking with two nights at London’s Roundhouse.
In a short statement on their website, the group said “We are sad to announce that John Cummings has decided to leave Mogwai to pursue his own musical projects. We will continue as a four piece of Dominic Aitchison, Stuart Braithwaite, Martin Bulloch and Barry Burns and shall be joined on our upcoming live shows by Scott Paterson and Luke Sutherland. We wish John all the best with the future”.
