Morrissey Shares Views On Donald Trump And Hillary Clinton | Music News

Morrissey's new album, World Peace Is None Of Your Business, comes out July 15.

The Smiths frontman and solo artist Morrissey has never held back about his personal views on politics and the ways of the world.

Now he has spoken out through a detailed letter about the US presidential election, criticising Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump and comments also on the recent shooting in Orlando and the coverage by media outlets such as CNN and Fox News.

Morrissey begins with expressing his perspective on Trump’s insight to the Orlando shooting in a gay club, “Donald Thump…reacts to the Orlando massacre by explaining how, if the people within the club were themselves armed with guns, then there would have been fewer casualties. This, of course, is his way of avoiding any words of support to the Orlando gay community”.

Further on in the letter, Morrissey mentions Bernie Sanders, and clearly is in favour of him winning the election, “true victory of the presidential race…the independent success of Bernie Sanders, whose approach has been so sane and intelligent and measured that he has been therefore all but entirely ignored by the U.S. media”.

There is no confusion for Morrissey fans and the public about his stance on the election and who should win, whether it is warranted or not.
