Mother Of The Pogues’ Shane MacGowan Is Killed In Car Crash | Music News
Shane MacGowan, of The Pogues, is in grieving after the loss of his mother. Therese MacGowan died 87 near Ballintogher, Ireland, on New Year’s Day and the circumstances surrounding it are being described as a “tragic accident”. Police added that this was “a single car collision with a wall”. She passed away at Limerick University Hospital.
Not only was she mother of The Pogues frontman, but also his sister, Siobhan MacGowan, a musician, too, plus journalist. Of course, Shane has suffered, albeit less serious, issues with his own health. This includes battles with drink and drugs, resulting in expensive dental surgery. There was also a fall whereby he suffered a severe pelvic injury back in 2015.
