Netflix Orders Its First German Original Series | TV News
Netflix has added yet another show to its roster of original content, and boy is it exciting. The streaming service has ordered its first German Netflix original series, entitled rather enigmatically Dark.
The series focuses on the disappearance of two young children, also exposing the fractured relationships amongst four families in a German town. Adding to the intrigue around the show, there will also be a supernatural twist to the family saga, tying back to the same town but 20 years before.
The series will debut exclusively on the platform in 2017, director Baran Bo Odar commenting: “We’re very excited to shoot the first Netflix original series made in Germany. To be part of the family that brought amazing shows like House of Cards and Bloodline to its audience is a huge honour.”
