Netflix Renew ‘Atypical’ For Season 2 | TV News

Despite the cruel promise to cancel shows to make way for quality television, Netflix seem to have reached a point where renewals are the norm. So, with great irony, it is now Atypical that joins Friends From College and Last Chance U to become the next original series to be gifted a second season in the wake of the apocalypse.

Created and written by Robia Rashid (Will & Grace, How I Met Your Mother), Atypical is a comedy that provides a sensitive look at autism through 18-year-old Sam (Keir Gilchrist) and his journey in pursuit of love, independence, and self-discovery.

The show has received mostly positive reviews, applauded for its sensitive look and hearty portrayal of life with autism. The entertainment giant also granted Atypical two more episodes, totalling to a 10 episode run in Season 2. The extension is definitely a good sign for the show, and without ratings, is the only indication that it’s making Netflix bulge in the pocket.

It’s not yet known when the series will be returning to our screens, but with the announcement yet to hit Twitter, I imagine a mysterious clip will reveal all (and nothing) soon.
