Netflix has released the first trailer for the prequel series to 2001 cinematic flop Wet Hot American Summer (which later became a cult favourite), named Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. The TV series will boast a huge comedic cast, made up of the original films’ cast – Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Joe Lo Truglio, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Banks, with new additions Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, Jason Schwartzman, Chris Pine and more.
The new series is set a few weeks before the original film during the summer of 1981, when councillers Ben and Susie (Cooper and Poehler) are in charge of a camp full of teens, and are launching a summer theatre programme. The series will contain eight 30 minute episodes, and is set for a Netflix release on the 31st of July 2015.
