Netflix’s ‘The Discovery’ Sounds Crazy Creepy! | Film Trailer
After releasing a teaser yesterday (January 18), Netflix’s newest film, The Discovery, is buzzing. Fans have reached a consensus: it’s creepy and crazy!
The trailer starts off on a smooth note, with the classic song, “Only The Lonely”, a smiling couple, a beach. From then on it quickly gets darker and weirder with bodies being moved, a hospital, an experiment.
The plot of The Discovery, which stars Jason Segel , Rooney Mara and Robert Redford, takes place:
“One year after the existence of the afterlife is scientifically verified, millions around the world have ended their own lives in order to ‘get there.’ A man and woman fall in love while coming to terms with their own tragic pasts and the true nature of the afterlife”.
Netflix’s Chief Content Office, Ted Sarandos, admits that: “To describe the story as original doesn’t begin to capture the world that Charlie has created that will envelop you”.
And we should expect nothing less from the duo of director-writer, Charlie McDowell and Justin Lader, who already brought us the science-fiction thriller, The One I Love, with Elisabeth Moss and Mark Duplass.
The Discovery will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival tomorrow (January 20) before being released by Netflix on Friday, March 31.
