New plot details have emerged today about the first Star Wars anthology spinoff, Rogue One. JoBlo.com say that we can expect the film to be set between Revenge of the Sith” and A New Hope, with the Empire at the height of its power. The film will follow the rebels as they try and capture the plans for the Death Star. Gareth Edwards, the director, has reportedly said he wants to make Rogue One feel like an “old school war film“, and that it will have a “grimmer and grittier” feel than other Star Wars films.
The pressure will certainly be on Edwards to create believable tension, because we already know that the rebels are successful in capturing the Death Star plans. However with the opportunity to explore previously unseen worlds and characters, the new anthologies are certainly an exciting prospect. Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One will be in theatres in December 2016.
