Damon Albarn has been made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) and Goldie has been made a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE). Goldie posted on Facebook “Very very proud to announce that i have been awarded an MBE – Member of the Order of the British Empire. There are some amazing people on the list, happy to be in such great company“. Other people named on the New Year Honours list include the likes of Barbara Windsor, Sue Barker, AP McCoy and Idris Elba.
