Nicholas Hoult Cast Alongside Emma Stone In ‘The Favourite’ | Film News
Nicholas Hoult (Warm Bodies, Equals) has been cast alongside Emma Stone in the upcoming film, The Favourite, which will be directed by Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster, Dogtooth).
Rachel Weisz is also a part of the cast for the film, which revolves around the reign of Queen Anne at the end of the 17th and beginning of the 18th century. Hoult will play Harley, ‘a Tory party leader’.
Despite the period setting, expect this to be nothing like you expect. Lanthimos has made a career of making odd, unnerving cinema, with The Lobster finally being his breakthrough into a little mainstream attention. The film will likely be weird and off-kilter, which only makes such an intriguing cast – now with two Academy Award winners present – all the more impressive.
Ceci Dempsey from Scarlet Films will produce, alongside Ed Guiney from Elemental Pictures and Lee Magiday. If the film can be anywhere close to Lanthimos’ previous work then this is one to be excited about.
