It seems that Jelani Maraj , Nicki Minaj‘s brother, is finally going to be standing trial in the next couple of weeks in Nassau County for the rape charges made against him in 2015.
He rejected a plea deal as he claims he is innocent and believes that the criminal justice system will find him innocent. After his mother paid for his bond, he has since underwent a divorce. Nicki herself has not spoken much about the matter. I am sure it has been a very tense time for the Maraj family.
The allegations were that he raped a child of 12 years of age on more than one occasion. If this is proven to be true Jelani is looking at spending a minimum of 15 years to the rest of his life in prison.
I will not weigh in on the matter, however, for the sake of the victim I hope justice is served and she is able to find peace.
