Noel Gallagher ‘Spews’ On Idea Of Oasis Musical | Music News
During an interview with Xfm, Noel Gallagher revealed that he was approached recently to discuss a Jukebox musical style “Rags to Riches” stage adaptation of the Oasis’ story; an idea he wasn’t too enthusiastic about! Noel revealed on the show that an “American dude” had come up to him to discuss the idea, and concluded that “After I’d belly-laughed and spewed up a drink, he wasn’t there any more, so I don’t think it’ll be happening any time soon“. Jukebox musicals tend to have a hit or miss nature, with success stories like Jersey Boys and the recent Ray Davies-penned Sunny Afternoon to the unfortunate misses like the Spice Girls Viva Forever!. There are many factors in determining the success of the musical, so perhaps Noel has made the right choice, albeit in his own inimitable manner.
