The long-awaited release of the seventh instalment of the Star Wars theatrical universe, The Force Awakens, is only two months away. Earlier this week, Disney revealed that a new trailer for the film would be released on Monday 19th October – tomorrow – and that the official poster would be released the day before. As promised, here is the traditional Star Wars poster that we can expect to be seeing outside our cinemas, and soon, fans’ bedroom walls.

Kylo Ren, Rey and Finn dominate the poster, weapon-weilding and prepped for battle, with Han Solo, Chewbacca and Princess Leia with pride of place featured below them. Notably, Luke Skywalker is absent. Captain Phasma appears towards the bottom of the poster, alongside an army of stormtroopers and what we can safely assume is the new Death Star behind the lot. LucasFilm representative Matt Martin has confirmed this poster is not the work of Drew Struzan – although it is believed to be inspired by his artwork style.

And now, we wait. Until tomorrow that is, when the brand new trailer will be released. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is to be released December 18.
