Pablo Schreiber Joins Dwayne Johnson In ‘Skyscraper’ | Film News
Pablo Schreiber is to star in Skyscraper alongside Dwayne Johnson. The 3D action film comes from writer/director Rawson Marshall Thurber, and follows former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader Will (Johnson) framed for an impossible accident; he is fored to clear his name, find the culprits, and rescue his family from inside.
Pablo Schreiber is on the rise in Hollywood, accelerated by his role as the detestable Pornstache in Orange is the New Black. He now plays Mad Sweeney in American Gods, which was recently picked up for a second season.
Director Thurber has made an evolution towards this expected epic; from comedy We’re the Millers, to action-comedy Central Intelligence – his first collaboration with main man Dwayne Johnson – and now pure action Skyscraper.
Not much else is known about Skyscraper, and Schreiber’s character could be either friend or foe to Johnson. Knowing his past characters, I’d sway more towards the evil end of the spectrum, but perhaps he’ll surprise us, just as he did with his charm when appearing outside of Litchfield.
Skyscraper is set for a 2018 release.
