‘Pez’ Candy Animated Movie In The Works | Film News

After the successes of last year’s The Lego Movie, many commercial companies are getting itchy feet in attempting to spring into the film industry with their products. With the news released last week of an Emoji movie coming to our screens, now the candy and candy dispenser company Pez are heading to our big screens, we can reveal.

You may remember Pez as small fizzy brick-shaped sweets that are dispensed from various retractable bobblehead-styled containers – from the likes of Disney characters, superheroes, and pop culture icons. The 88-year-old sweet company has struck a deal with Envision Media Arts to develop a film based on the once-popular candy craze.

Cameron Fay, who is known for the Bill Pullman and Rita Wilson starring comedy Brother In Laws, is attached to the project in terms of a director. In an interview about the film, CEO of Pez, Lee Nelson stated: “Pez Candy is beloved by children and adults alike, with Cameron Fay we’ve created a world unique to Pez and a story that will touch the hearts of many”. No further information has been released about when the film will begin production.
