Plans For New ‘John Carter’ Movie As Disney Loses Rights | Film News

After spending so much time and money on making John Carter into a sci-fi family hit, Disney’s movie about intergalactic adventures flopped hard with both critics and audiences, so it’s no surprise that they’ve lost the film right to its original author Edgar Rice Burroughs. This is good news for fans of the original series because seriously, Disney did not do it justice and sci-fi fans would go nuts over this project done right.

The Playlist reported that Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc is looking for production partners for future movies; “we will be seeking a new partner to help develop new adventures on film as chronicled in the eleven Mars novels Burroughs wrote“.  Excited? You should be because lets face it, it can’t get much worse than the Disney film starring wasted talent, Taylor Kistch and directed by Andrew Stanton.
