One of 2018’s biggest artists, Popcaan, is back at it again with his first video of 2019. After making major moves in the last year including a massive London headline show, music videos and signing to Drake‘s OVO Sound, the Jamaican dancehall artist is back with the brand new video for “Silence“.
The video shows Popcaan’s home of Jamaica through his lens. He is surrounded by his people as we see him get his hair retouched, ride dirtbikes and vibe out. Interspersed with VHS-style footage of everyday life on the island from church service to his guys playing football, this is the real Jamaica we don’t always see.
“Silence” is a tale of cautionary lyrics, an ode to his Unruly family and a dedication to a fallen soldier in Unruly Shaggel, as is shown at the end of the clip.
“Silence” serves as the intro track to his sophomore album Forever released July last year. The album features an appearance from Davido.
