Prince Fox + Thewz – Heartbeat Darkside | New Music

Alongside the release of Prince Fox‘s debut EP Musings, this New York artist has selected track “Heartbeat Darkside” as his first single. As well as generating his own style of “future pop”, influenced from deep house and EDM, this track also includes rapper Thewz leading us through this electronic beauty. Going down a slightly different route with this track, he abandons his renowned big future sound and progresses with a future house style, making it a song to chill to rather than dance to.

Back in Sam Lessner’s, aka Prince Fox‘s early days of experimenting, he actually lived with Thewz, and according to his Soundcloud page he states “after we both moved out, a few weeks later he sent me a three minute long acapella, of him singing and rapping. I liked it a lot (obviously) so I cut up his words and re pitched, timed, and tuned them for him to re perform it, so it fit what I was working on…and that’s kind of how ‘Heartbeat Darkside’ came to life”.

He continues to express the importance of this track, by claiming “To me it’s a really special one because, we’ve all been in relationships with people where you are skeptical of the persons love and intent, yet you’re sure they are too, but at the end of the day/night you end up close enough just listening ‘to the sound of [their] heart beat’“. From indie to electronic to chillwave to rap to folk, I love to write about all the up-and-coming gems of music as well as the legendary bands which have developed my love for music. Although it makes putting my music library on shuffle quite an undesirable experience. Feel free to follow me on twitter for more music related posts.
