Ahead of Disney’s forthcoming sequel Finding Dory, Questlove, former The Roots member and successful DJ and producer for such modern artists as Erykah Badu and John Legend, has recalled an unusual reason for his dislike of the original film. According to the artist, he was fired from a DJ set by none other than Prince, who then ordered that the Finding Nemo DVD be played on the club’s monitors in his place.
This is not the first time a member of the Roots has enjoyed an altercation with the mercurial musician; in 2013 the band also revealed that Prince had smashed one of the band’s guitars during a performance with the group on Jimmy Fallon.
