Autobots, Roll out!
The transformers franchise continues to move forwards, as Paramount has recently announced the proposed release dates for the next three follow ups to its Sci-fi robot war saga. The studio stated (via Variety) that Transformers 5 will be released on June 23 2017, and will see the return of Michael Bay as director and Mark Wahlberg reprising his role as Cade Yeager. Transformers 6 and 7 will follow suit, with respective release dates of June 8, 2018, and June 28, 2019.
Bay has directed the previous 4 films, three of which originally starred Shia LaBeouf. The franchise has become one of the largest grossing films of all time, earning over $3.7 Billion world wide. Hasbro Chairman and President Brian Golder has also hinted some of the plot focus for the sixth installment during the New York Toy Fair, in which he has suggested it to focus on the character of Bumblebee.
