Ridley Scott’s ‘The Martian’ Release Date Moved Forward To October | Film News

Ridley Scott’s latest sci-fi epic The Martian had had its release date moved in the US. The Martian has been moved from a Thanksgiving release to October 2, taking the spot from Victor Frankenstein, which will now be released November 25th. It could be that Fox believe that The Martian may play better at that time of the year or it could be avoiding competition from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2.

The Martian tells the story of an astronaut (Matt Damon) stranded on Mars and trying to survive. The first trailer was recently debuted and it certainly looks like a return to form for Ridley Scott, but if like me, you don’t want the whole plot spelled out for you, I recommend watching the ‘Meet Ares 3’ teaser instead.
