Rik Mayall To Have Memory Cemented With Reinstalled ‘Bottom’ Bench | TV News
Rik Mayall who sadly died earlier this summer from a heart attack, is to have a bench, matching the one in the BBC sitcom Bottom, officially put in place in London to serve his memory, with an inscription that reads: “In Memory of The Man, The Myth, The Legend“. The original famous bench that features in the opening credits of the classic Bottom sitcom, with the two characters Richie and Eddie scrapping on it, was unfortunately removed just before Rik’s death. To get the bench commissioned, a petition with more than 7000 fans was signed, and the bench will be placed in the same spot as where the old one was, which will be between Queen Caroline Street and Hammersmith Bridge Road, West London. Enjoy the very funny opening starring that famous bench for Bottom here.
