Rondo Mo – Overflow | New Music
“Overflow” is the first official release from Rondo Mo, the artist name for South-Londoner, Robbie Redway. He started with releasing an album with house don, Midland, and touring as a session member of alt-folk band, To Kill A King. His current incarnation sees him remind many of acts such as Caribou, LCD Soundsystem and Bob Moses.
“Overflow” patters in with clicking percussion, before soulful, bluesy and slightly distorted vocals herald a cacophony of pure ambience. It is tense, high octane and very grave. Piano hammers in before deep bass rings ominously. It almost drives, yet elects rather to be more moody. The bass is there for the fade out, ringing out like a lone rumble of thunder.
