Rosamund Pike To Co-Star with Christian Bale In Scott Cooper’s ‘Hostiles’ | Film News
Rosamund Pike has reportedly signed on for the lead in the new Christian Bale/Bradley Cooper collaboration which is set in 1892.
The western drama is based on a 30-year-old script penned by Academy Awards nominee Donald Stewart, now reworked and directed by Cooper who last helmed Black Mass.
The story will feature Bale as a legendary American Army captain with a severe contempt for Native Americans who agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family to safety. They are later joined by Pike’s widow whose family has been murdered. Together the unlikely heroes must form an alliance to overcome their problems and face their enemies if they want to complete their mission.
The production is set to kick off in July. It will mark the first time Bale and Pike share the screen together after they were expected to shoot The Deep Blue Good-By , which fell through last year following Bale’s injury. This time, however, all the pieces seem to be in the right place so we can expect more casting announcements to follow soon.
