‘Selma’ Pair Ava DuVernay And David Oyelowo To Reunite On Hurricane Katrina Story | Film News

Working on the recent Martin Luther King biopic, Selma director Ava DuVernay and actor David Oyelowo are a match made in heaven, so it’s amazing news to hear they may be reuniting to work on a Hurricane Katrina film. According to Joblo, the film will revolve around the time of Hurricane Katrina’s destruction and will involve a love story as well as a murder mystery!

DuVernay is set to write/direct and produce (triple threat much) with Oyelowo set to star and produce also. While there’s no production start date as of yet, we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for more details. Despite being nominated for ‘Best Picture’ at the Oscars, there’s been quite a lot of controversy about the lack on individual nominations for DuVernay and Oyelowo, still with the public’s support behind them, we’re looking to get a really great drama in 2016! Selma was incredible and I am seriously excited to see more from the two of them!
