‘Sherlock’ writers reveal storylines will be darker

 

Sherlock writers Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat have revealed that the show’s new episodes will be a lot darker than previous seasons. Gatiss revealed the news at the just concluded Emmy Award’s after party. The BBC show is about a detective called Sherlock Holmes played by Benedict Cumberbatch who solves mysteries in the city of London. He is joined by his friend Dr John Watson (Martin Freeman) who used to be part of the Royal Army Medical Corps in Afghanistan. Talking about season four, Moffat said, “we’ve practically reduced our cast to tears telling them the plan“. The next episode of Sherlock is the Christmas special which will air in 2015.
