Shy Luv – Pharaohs | New Music

Black Butter London duo, Shy Luv, have covered SBTRKT’s “Pharaohs”. Shy Luv consists of Sam Knowles (acclaimed producer, Karma Kid) and producer, Jake Norman (Armeria). Their recent track, “Joyrider”, fared well on Hype Machine with over 155,000 plays on Soundcloud, and was trending on the Spotify Viral Chart globally.

“Pharaohs” opens with the plectrum attack of bass guitar before joined by the rest of the ensemble. When the vocals kick in the bass veers from subdued to prominent. Then it is just light drum accompanying the vocals, definitely an apt sense of dynamics. Even more so just beyond the midpoint, whispering and ethereal preceding processed solo wild with abandon.
