Sideshow Bob To Finally Get His Revenge On Bart In ‘The Simpsons’ Halloween Special | TV News

Sideshow Bob

We are only in June but the annual ‘Treehouse of Horror’ Simpsons Halloween Special is already being planned and in the works. Executive producer Al Jean explained to Entertainment Weekly that Sideshow Bob (voiced by Kelsey Grammer) will finally get to live out his dream of killing his arch nemesis Bart Simpson (voiced by Nancy Cartwright). Bob has been set on achieving this goal since Bart ruined his elaborate plan to set up Krusty the clown in the 1993 episode ‘Cape Feare’.

Jean drew parallels with Roadrunner and Coyote saying, “I hated frustration comedy so we’ll scratch that itch”. Bob’s itch won’t remain scratched for long as this is a Halloween special so Bart won’t stay dead for long but this is a nice gift for those that root for the bad guy. I’ve got to admit Bob does have more charisma in his little finger and I always felt quite sorry for Tom, Sylvester and Coyote too, their nemesis were just a little too smug!

Simpsons has just been renewed for seasons 27 and 28, continuing to enjoy its title as the longest running American sitcom and animated sitcom. There have been a whopping 625 episodes since 1989. In other news for season 27, the beloved Spider Pig character from the 2007 Simpsons Movie will return for an episode and another episode will feature voice cameos from Lena Dunham and her Girls cast mates. Dunham will play a pharmacist that becomes involved with Homer after he develops narcolepsy, causing he and Marge to seperate.

Still no news on Harry Shearer since his announcement that he is quitting the show, the fate of his voiced characters still up in the air, unless a deal can be made, which has been hinted at by the Simpsons team.
