Simon Pegg To Co-Write ‘Star Trek 3’ Script | Film News

When Robert Orci announced that he was departing as director of the third Star Trek installment, he also confirmed that his draft of the script will not be used. According to Deadline, comedy actor Simon Pegg will step into the writing role, with the help of Banshee writer, Doug Jung. Director Justin Lin will be helming the project, and with a release date for the sci-fi flick looming, this is pretty awesome news.

The talented actor starred in both J.J Abrams Star Trek films and will no doubt be back to play charming character Scotty in the third installment. Pegg has great writing experience, co-writing titles like Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and The Worlds End, with director Edgar Wright. While there’s no official confirmation as of yet, this would be great news for both Pegg and his Star Trek fans!
