Snoop Dogg Discourages People From Watching ‘Roots’ Remake | Music News

Tonight (May 30), History will premiere another remake of Roots, a slave narrative originally written by Alex Haley in 1976. However, Snoop Dogg will not be singing its praises. Snoop would rather see series’ that discuss black peoples’ successes today, not the wrongs done to them years ago.

 

“I don’t understand America, they just wanna keep keep showing the abuse that we took hundreds and hundreds of years ago” Snoops laments on Instagram. “I ain’t watching that s**t and I advise you mother f**kers [not to either]. F**k them television shows, let’s create our own s**t based on today”. Hear the argument in its entirety below:

Roots will be an eight-hour series spanning over four consecutive days.
