‘Springwatch’ Host Chris Packham Pokes Fun At ‘Top Gear’ | TV News
The new version of Top Gear has gone the same way as Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, many fans switching over to Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War in preference of the loose, garbled plot lines that got lost through the film.
A similar fate aspired with the revamped Top Gear, with many disgruntled fans switching over to BBC 2’s Springwatch. The show’s host Chris Packham poked fun at the motoring show as the latest series of the nature programme kicks off with a seven year high in audience.
Packham commented on air: “If you were watching Top Gear last night, you’d know that started with a Dodge Viper, pretty impressive, smart car, very fast. Well I’ve got to tell you Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc, I’m going to raise you a stone-curlew live on our acid grassland. You can keep your Dodge Viper. Look at the eye of that bird! It’s squinting now, It’s having a little nap”.
Pretty sure that it wasn’t just the bird having a nap the way audiences and critics have reacted to the show on Sunday.
