‘Star Wars Rebels’ Comic-Con Trailer Pitts Our Heroes Against Darth Vader | TV Trailer
Star Wars Rebels season one was a great measuring device for how Disney would approach their recent acquisition. Despite the series’ simplistic animation; strong characters and dynamic storytelling made for a nostalgic return to the Star Wars universe. Now, just in time for 2015’s New York Comic-con, Disney have released a new trailer for second season of the animated series. With plenty of new footage, the short clip teases the gathering storm surrounding the show’s heroes, and at its centre; Sith lord Darth Vader.
Set five years before the events of A New Hope, Star Wars Rebels follows Ezra Bridger, a young Jedi whose parents were abducted by the Empire. After joining up with a band of rebels, Ezra and his new companions are pursued by the relentless Inquisitors; an order dedicated to the eradication of all Jedi-kind. Season two will see the heroes continue their battle against the villainous Imperials.
Star Wars Rebels season two is expected to run for approximately double the number of episodes as the first, which ran for thirteen. The series stars the vocal talent of Freddie Prinze Jr., Vanessa Marshall, David Oyelowo, Steve Blum, and Taylor Gray, with James Earl Jones returning as Darth Vader. The show will air on Disney XD on October 14. Check out the NYCC trailer below.
