Stealing Sheep – Apparition | Music Video

You can call me crazy but, I swear Morris dancing is usually accompanied by a tranquil traditional Scottish folk song and not psychedelic synth-pop right? Nevertheless, Stealing Sheep are breaking musical norms with the release of their music video for “Apparition”. Director Dougal Wilson, who oddly enough has had experience of niche music video making incorporating Morris dancing in 2003 with a Four Tet video claims “the idea for Apparition came from the fact that the song had a mysterious, hypnotic feeling, and the fact that I’ve always found Morris dancing slightly strange and psychedelic”. This is certainly the case as the obscure folk imagery matches the eccentric trio’s electronica sound perfectly. Who knew? This brilliant piece of choreography can be watched below.

From indie to electronic to chillwave to rap to folk, I love to write about all the up-and-coming gems of music as well as the legendary bands which have developed my love for music.
