Stogey – V.I.P | Music Video

Stogey, an Eastbourne emcee, now has visuals for “V.I.P”. The track is produced by label mates, Audio Slugs, and this is through E.B Records where D Power is at the helm. He has been crucial in the birth of the most influential grime crews such as Boy Better Know, Nasty Crew, Roll Deep and More Fire Crew.

“V.I.P” starts grave and urgent, shimmering, paradoxically, with menace. Deep bass and high pitched vocal samples add to that dangerous swagger. The rattle and clap of the drum like a snake coiling, poised to strike before you can move your hand to safety. The vocals very much syncopate with the beat of said drum.

The video takes you on a tour around the town and waterside, meeting up with friends and affiliates for a night out, getting their “V.I.P” passes. There are also trippy visuals to witness in this one, particularly a kaleidoscope effect that is all artistic, disorientating and discombobulating.

I've always wanted to be involved in the media since before I even left school; to write for a living.I feel most eloquent when mapping out my thoughts on paper or on a computer screen.I studied media at college for two years, and went straight into third year at university studying publishing with journalism. After a range of work experience, I did a magazine journalism course in Bournemouth, a long way away from my hometown of Aberdeen, achieving my NCTJ qualifications. Now I spend my time gladly writing about music.
