So I am glad to say that I was right. The #MERKY billboards with the “#GSAP24/02” hashtag appearing all over London were indeed foreshadowing Stormzy’s upcoming album, Gang Signs And Prayer. He resurged on Twitter featuring the track list for GSAP and by the sounds of the first released track, I think we can safely presume that the album will not disappoint.
His first single released off of his new project is called “Big For Your Boots”, and the video is definitely impressive; shot in various locations around the capital, featuring his girlfriend, Maya Jama. His lyrical content is of course on point; as to be expected by Stormzy.
The grime star wanted to make a statement with this new project and he is off to a great start. In less than 24 hours the video has already garnered over 500,000 views. However, with his sudden disappearance and resurgence, it is no surprise the views mounted so quickly. His fan and his critics needed to know whether the wait was worth and it. It was:
