A couple days before its official release, Flume streamed his sophomore album Skin to fans on Facebook Live yesterday afternoon. The project is a 16-tracks long journey throughout the Australian producer’s signature sound, along with all-star guest appearances from Vic Mensa, AlunaGeorge, MNDR, Beck and Swedish pop phenomenon, Tove Lo.

The album will be officially released tomorrow via Future Classic, and is accompanied by a series of abstract visuals for each track. The 25-years-old artist kicked off the listening session describing the work as a sum up of his last three years, in which he toured the world in its entirety, and – judging by the sound of it – they must have been the three most exciting years of his life.

I speak as loud as the volume I listen to music, and this is probably symptomatic of my love for pop music: I love pop music because it is often unapologetically in-your-face, it shouts rather than tell, it drives you crazy. And after 21 years loving pop music, I think I’ve completely gone mad. It all started in 1997, when my mum bought me my first cassette: needless to say, it was ‘Barbie Girl’ by Aqua, and from that point on, it’s been a never-ending loving relationship between me and music. I study, work and live life part-time, and listen to music full-time.
