Sylvan LaCue – Emeryville | Music Video

Sylvan LaCue had a successful rollout with his Far From Familiar project which can be streamed. He is now setting up for a big show in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 12, and today he releases a new visual from the album for “Emeryville”.

“Emeryville” has tinkling piano, very sombre, with a female spoken word introduction. That combines, somehow, for very sleepy opening moments. The song proper has ringing, less subtle, piano and a massive drum sound that sounds almost tribal. A guitar solo lends the song some power and passion, before the fadeout.

The video, directed by Jonathan Benavente, with cinematography by Nick Mahar, has strange colour schemes. The grass is yellow, Sylvan’s lips are orange, and the love interest seems to be surrounded by purple trees at one point. Maybe this conveys her spiritual aura, her ability to heal him?
