‘TFI Friday’ Revival Unlikely To Continue | TV News
Fifteen years after it was last broadcast, TFI Friday made a successful comeback this year, to the extent that its one-off revival was commissioned into a full series. But now host Chris Evans has said he’s stepping down to concentrate on fronting the new series of Top Gear, meaning that TFI Friday is unlikely to return to our screens again.
At one point, Evans even singled out Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw as his natural successor on the show, which would’ve worked out well if X Factor don’t come a-calling again for Grimshaw next year. But now Evans has gone quiet on this front, so Grimmy’s probably hoping that Simon Cowell picks up the phone again to re-invite him on to next year’s judging panel.
