The 1975 – Love Me | New Music

the1975

The 1975 are back with a brand new single which was premiered on BBC Radio on the 8th October on  Annie Mac’s Hottest Records show. Lead singer Matthew Healy said that the new material was a play on ‘celebrity pop culture’, saying that the new album I Like It When You Sleep For You So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It was needed to tell some truths. The track itself is quite definitely eighties inspired with funk synths and guitars riffs littering the track’s smooth foundations, while the lyrics are also well written. You can listen to the Duran Duran/Prince – esque track here.

I am a 23 year-old musician from Luton, who graduated from De Montfort University with a 2:1 in BA Music Technology & Performance. I sing and write songs in my spare time and I am a massive music enthusiast. I listen to all kinds of different music from indie rock and folk to hip hop and deep house, but I am mainly influenced by hip hop and R&B. I have been interested in music all my life, it shaped my life from phase to phase and I cannot live without it. I try and see live music when I can and attended Reading Festival last year to see my favorite indie rock band Arctic Monkeys. My other interests include superhero and horror films, sports and binging on TV shows.
