The Fault in Our Star’s Ansel Elgort Up For ‘The Pirates of The Caribbean 5’ | Film News
The Pirates of The Caribbean 5 movie had slowed down a little after initial concerns over the script, but now things are picking up and some more A-list names are being added to the cast rumor mill. Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg are set to lead production early next year with Javier Bardem rumored to be playing the villain in the movie, a ghost pirate. Now it looks like Disney are ready to add some young blood to the fifth installment with The Fault in Our Star’s actor, Ansel Elgort a favorite for a young male lead. Elgort blew audiences away with his performance in the film adaptation of John Green’s famous teen novel.
According to Deadline, other names in the mix include Taron Egerton (The Secret Service), George Mackay (Pride), Sam Keeley (What Richard Did) and Brenton Thwaites (Oculus). Even though these are some fine young talents, there’s no guarantee that any of them will take a place opposite the great Johnny Depp. Here’s to hoping, though!
